The Luxe Outdoors Octopeak Winter Shelter is our largest backpackable hot tent.  It's the hot tent version of the Octopeak F8 with one door, a stove jack, snow skirts and without the inner.  It also includes a ventilation port for those days with the stove running non stop.  The door can be opened from either the top or bottom to provide more ventilation if needed.

Pair with an optional 2 person inner and a dedicated center pole.

Will sleep up to 3 with a stove.  Also will fit one cot with a stove or two cots without.

Will sleep up to 6 - but it's tight.  We think this shelter works best as a four person or fewer shelter.

Packed size 21" x 6"

A common question is should I choose this tent or the Megahorn III?  If you are backpacking - choose the Octopeak Winter shelter.  If you are car camping, choose the Megahorn III.  The Megahorn III is larger and has dual screened doors - but is heavier at 8 pounds.

Fantastic hunting tent

Bought this for early CO elk season. It stood up to heavy rain, wind, light snow and I have no doubt it would stand up to winter as well. Plenty of room for two people with gear and stove.

Sweet Tent!

Great tent for fall white tails. I'm currently using this with my teenage son for weekend hunts away from all the crowds. It's kept us dry through a couple wet nights, lots of room for both of us. I should seam seal it but its kept us dry so far.

I have the optional floor but havent used it. If you use hiking poles just use a couple ski straps to lash them together and leave the center pole at home. Jim at 3 Ridges Gear suggested that and it works very well and saves weight.

Great tent, stove location ok

As noted in another review, love everything but the stove location does make it hard to get in and out.

F8e review

Very easy to set up. Lots of room for the weight. Also have the Megahorn, and like, but the F8e is half the weight. Wish the stove Jack was 180 from the door so when in use people do not have to crawl around stove over others gear. If stove Jack was 180 from door one could go in to the left and one could go in to the right. Also with the stove Jack 180 from the door the larger tarps could be used for a “porch” without being too close to stove pipe. All in all a 4.
